At the heart of any great story lies the unfailing bond of friendship.  The duo of Geralt of trusty horse, Roach is a prime example of this kindred bond. The monster-slaying warrior would be stranded in a volatile world without his four-legged steed, but this is about more than just transportation. Their appreciation is mutual, each providing the other with unconditional love, making the journey through swamps and scorched lands a little less lonely.

Acclaimed illustrator Kathleen Neeley captures one of those special, mid-adventure moments between Geralt and Roach, accomplished through the painstaking artistry of relief carving. It’s a tedious process that not only involves drawing, but hours of scraping away at the linoleum to create a dimensional version of the art, which is then slathered in ink and transferred to handmade Japanese paper. It’s an ancient art form, harkening back thousands of years, and Kathleen is a master of the craft.

Netflix is proud to collaborate with renowned fine art purveyors, iam8bit, to bring this limited edition print to life. This is a one-of-a-kind, museum quality piece, hand-signed and numbered by the artist. To protect the artwork, it ships flat and ready to frame.

About the Artist

Kathleen Neeley is an artist specializing in relief printmaking and illustration. Her highly detailed process involves the intricate carving of a linoleum block, resulting in a reversed mirror image. The final print is created by stamping the relief in oil-based ink and transferring it onto handmade Japanese paper, inspired by an ancient technique.  She received a B.F.A. and M.A. from the University of Oklahoma, and lives in Tulsa.
